Pathway Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Kent, Washington. This full-time position focuses on providing exceptional mental health counseling services to our geriatric patients. As a member of our outpatient office, you will deliver personalized care from a remote work setting, enabling our clients to navigate life's transitions and age-related challenges.

Work Environment\n

This position offers flexibility with a remote work setting, providing a balance between work and personal life. Our workweek is structured from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing you to engage fully during daily business hours while having weekends off to recharge. As part of our outpatient team, you will leverage our advanced telehealth tools and electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate effective communication and coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to evaluate their unique psychological and emotional needs.

  • Provide both individual and group counseling sessions tailored to address issues related to aging, loss, and significant life transitions.

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that enhance quality of life for our geriatric residents.

  • Educate families and caregiving staff on best practices and intervention strategies that promote emotional health and well-being among the elderly.

  • Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for residents and their families as they navigate end-of-life challenges.

  • Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions that help maintain and improve cognitive functioning in older adults.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on serving elderly clients, many of whom are experiencing complex mental health challenges stemming from age-related issues, bereavement, or significant life transitions. You will work closely with this population, employing your skills to foster meaningful connections and provide support that enhances their overall emotional resilience.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • \n
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling.

  • Deep understanding of the common mental health issues faced by elderly individuals, including depression, anxiety, and grief.

  • Proficiency in conducting thorough assessments, with an ability to develop customized treatment strategies that effectively address client concerns.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges between USD 65,000 and 95,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
