Travel Nursing Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220 Assignment Length: 12 weeks Start Date: November 2, 2026 Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour variable day and night shifts Shift Times: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday Unit: Medical/Pediatrics; travel nurses will care for adult patients Orientation: 8 hours; guaranteed hours may vary during orientation Electronic Medical Record: EPIC Floating: Inpatient units as needed Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Recent EPIC charting experience Trauma Level II experience highly preferred Ability to work variable day and night shifts, including alternating weekends and holidays Adaptability, resilience, strong independent judgment, and a collaborative approach to patient care Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients in an inpatient setting Assess, monitor, and document patients with respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, renal, infectious, cardiovascular, and other acute medical conditions Support patients receiving care for stroke, seizure disorders, diabetes, sepsis, wound care needs, urinary disorders, renal failure, and acute alcohol withdrawal Administer medications and treatments, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and evaluate patient responses Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in EPIC Float to inpatient units as assigned while maintaining high standards of patient care Collaborate with providers, ancillary staff, patients, and families to promote positive outcomes Manage changing priorities effectively and ask questions when needed to ensure excellent patient experiences Apply now to join a Wisconsin travel nursing team and begin your next Medical-Surgical RN assignment in Wausau.
