Sign Language Interpreter

The Escanaba Area Public School District seeks a qualified candidate for the following position:

Sign Language Interpreter

Location: District Wide


Start Date: 24-25 School Year


Reports to: Special Education Supervisor


Wage: Commensurate with experience and/or contractual requirements


Hours: 6.50 Hours Daily


Deadline: Until Filled

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have the ability to transliterate
• Must meet DODDB requirements for sign language

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in a public school district or other similar setting

Job Description

• Provide interpretation services to deaf or hard of hearing students as assigned
• Communicate with student, family, and staff to ensure a successful educational experience
• Provide feedback to professional staff to assist in the design of an appropriate educational program
