Dispensing Pharmacy Technician

Location: Lancaster, PA 17601
Pay: 17.00-19.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, rotating shifts + rotating weekends

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispensing Pharmacy Technician to join our long-term care pharmacy team in Lancaster, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, labeling, and organizing medication orders for the long-term care facilities we serve.

Reliability and attendance are especially important in this position , as team members are assigned to daily filling or cycle filling each day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for packaging and shipment to long-term care facilities.
• Package medication orders according to prescription label directions.
• Count, seal, and label prescription cards.
• Pull medications and match NDC numbers to prescription labels.
• Accurately fill individual medication orders while maintaining established production expectations.
• Complete approximately 125-150 packed items per day .
• Perform cycle filling for scheduled medications based on 28-day medication cycles.
• Scan and review orders associated with medication cycles to ensure all medications are accounted for and prepared appropriately.
• Return inventory to the proper location.
• Assist with inventory control, including credits and restocking.
• Maintain adequate inventory stocking levels.
• Keep workstations and the facility clean and organized.
• Maintain all required quality assurance standards.
• Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow established procedures.
• General knowledge of medications and physician orders.
• Ability and willingness to learn and use a pharmacy computer system.
• Successful completion of pre-employment and/or random drug screening, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience is preferred but not required .
• Pharmacy technician experience is a plus.
• Candidates must be open to obtaining/registering as a Pharmacy Technician, as applicable.

Schedule

This position follows a rotating schedule. Employees should expect a combination of opening, mid, and closing shifts:

• Opening: 9:00 AM-5:00/5:30 PM
• 30-minute lunch
• Mid: 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Closing: 12:30/1:00 PM-9:00/9:30 PM
• The preferred closing schedule is 1:00 PM-9:30 PM

Generally, employees should expect approximately two closing/evening shifts per week , or one closing/evening shift and one mid shift per week .

This role also includes rotating weekends, approximately every 4 weeks . When assigned to a weekend, employees may choose to:

• Take corresponding weekdays off during the week, or
• Keep their scheduled weekdays and earn overtime for the additional weekend hours.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a structured pharmacy environment. Previous pharmacy experience is helpful, but we are open to candidates who are interested in entering the pharmacy field and are willing to obtain the appropriate Pharmacy Technician registration.
