Under the administrative supervision of the Team Leader or Program Director, this position is responsible for providing psychosocial, rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services for adults. This is a Behavioral Health Associate level position. This is an at-will direct service position within a program. The position is responsible for assisting and advocating for our clients in meeting their expressed goals while living in the community. Additional support in areas of medication management, housing, and advocacy will be provided as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting assigned members to identify and progress toward achievement of member chosen goals, supporting individual service plans for each client, providing prepackaged medications prepared by pharmacy to clients, providing on-the-spot counseling, driving on program business using personal vehicle for the purposes of medication outreach, and attending to the safety, health, and wellbeing of clients.

Knowledge of principles and goals of community mental health, principles and goals of the self-help model, principles and goals of the consumer-driven model, principles and goals of the harm reduction model, principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, and various treatment modalities, and psychosocial rehabilitation's treatment and programming is required.

Ability to work and communicate with staff, clients, families, community agencies and professionals, perform crisis intervention strategies, work effectively under stress and conflict, exercise appropriate judgment and decision-making, be flexible and adaptable in any given situation, work as a member of a team, work under time deadlines and pressures, and work with minimal supervision is required.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or obtainment of a GED and two years full time/equivalent direct care experience in a behavioral health related field providing direct care services; and a certificate of completion form the Core Skills Training upon hire. An associate of arts degree is preferred.

California driver's license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and, reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles are required.

Schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30 PM - 9:00 PM, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. (24 hours Part-Time). Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 an hour.
