Job Title: Dishwasher/Porter

Compensation & Perks:   $15-16/hr + tips, PTO, Meal Stipend, 30 Minute Breaks

Location: Cleo Bagels at 5013 Baltimore Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143.

Position Type: Part Time; 27-31 hours a week Sunday through Tuesday. Must have availability to occasionally be able to cover other dish shifts . Opportunity for additional hours for the right candidate. 

Job Summary:

Join our team at Cleo Bagels as a Dishwasher/Porter, where you'll play a vital role in washing and stowing dishes, maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen, and assisting with day to day porter activities including light prep, basic equipment maintenance/upkeep, trash and recycling support, and more.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Dishwashing: Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized promptly and thoroughly; dried before putting away. We provide gloves and a waterproof apron. 
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain a clean and organized back-of-house area, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
• Cleaning Schedule: Adhere to weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. detailed cleaning schedule.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to support a smooth and efficient operation. This includes arriving on time, communicating well and being able to respond to the needs of the business quickly and collaboratively.
• Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Preparation: Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, portioning ingredients, dough processing, and more
• Other Duties as Assigned: Pitch in with other kitchen tasks as needed. This may include supporting on tasks like shaping bagels, whipping cream cheese, light knife work. 
• Closing: Thoroughly sweeping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, and mopping the shop at the end of each shift. Bakers, Front of House, and Prep teams are responsible for getting the shop mop-ready and there will be days where Front of House or Prep may mop. Dish is the last eyes on the shop to make sure everything is clean and left in good shape for the following day's service.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar back-of-house role
• Good time management. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Availability to cover if our other dishwasher is out.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.

• Pooled Tips: tips are 'pooled' on a biweekly schedule and paid out through payroll based on total hours worked, not on which days earned which tips. Current tip average is around an additional six to seven dollars per hour.
