Family Law Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Family Law Attorney to join their dynamic team in the Modesto area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex family law matters while handling an independent caseload. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of litigation experience and a deep understanding of family law. Duties Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and domestic violence cases. Provide legal counsel and representation to clients throughout all phases of litigation. Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements. Appear in court for hearings, trials, and mediations, advocating for the client’s best interests. Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure case progress and deadlines are met. Stay current on family law trends and legislative changes, adjusting strategies as necessary. Maintain effective communication with clients, keeping them informed about case developments. Requirements A minimum of 5 years of family law litigation experience. Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client relations and court appearances. Ability to handle high‑pressure situations and meet deadlines. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership in the California State Bar. Skills Strong knowledge of California family law statutes and regulations. Expertise in courtroom procedures, including motions, hearings, and trials. High level of organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
