About the Role 

The Port Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating contractor-provided berthing support activities in support of U.S. Navy port operations at Naval Station Mayport. This position works closely with the Government Dockmaster to coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, berth readiness, shipboard utility connections, and waterfront logistics, ensuring safe and efficient operations in accordance with contract requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage and coordinate daily vessel berthing operations, personnel, equipment, and resources in support of contract requirements.
• Serve as the primary contractor point of contact with the Government Dockmaster to coordinate berthing activities, vessel movements, and operational priorities.
• Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures, berth assignments, docking, undocking, and associated waterfront support services.
• Oversee berth setup and readiness, including the placement, connection, disconnection, and removal of brows, towers, fenders, and other berthing equipment.
• Coordinate shipboard utility connections and disconnections, including shore power, potable water, and other required services.
• Coordinate port logistics, material handling, hotel services, and dockside support activities to meet vessel requirements.
• Monitor berthing schedules, equipment availability, waterfront conditions, and operational requirements; identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure berthing activities comply with applicable Navy and industry standards across the Mayport Boat Basin, Piers A–G, and south wall.
• Maintain accurate operational records, berthing schedules, service documentation, and required contract reports.
• Coordinate with Program Management, Government representatives, vessel personnel, and waterfront teams to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DoD, Navy, installation, maritime safety, environmental, and Company requirements.
• Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience coordinating vessel berthing, shipboard utility connections, dockside support, and port operations logistics.
• Experience coordinating vessel arrivals, departures, docking, undocking, and waterfront support services.
• Working knowledge of berthing equipment, shore power, potable water connections, brows, towers, fenders, and associated waterfront operations.
• Ability to coordinate multiple vessel movements, operational priorities, personnel, equipment, and resources in a fast-paced port environment.
• Experience working with Dockmasters, vessel personnel, port authorities, or waterfront operations teams.
• Knowledge of applicable Navy and industry standards governing vessel berthing, waterfront operations, maritime safety, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to interpret and apply contractual requirements, technical specifications, operating procedures, and installation safety requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.  
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.  
• Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite. 
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position. 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or desk.  
• Frequent use of hands for typing, data entry, and handling paperwork.  
• Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
