Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (NICU) provides expert nursing care for critically ill newborns in a fast-paced neonatal unit. This role includes weekend night coverage with the expectation to float within departments and cross campus as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive NICU nursing care to neonates requiring Level 3 or Level 4 support.
• Monitor vital signs, assess clinical status, and promptly escalate changes in condition.
• Administer medications and therapies accurately, following neonatal protocols and unit standards.
• Maintain safe, family-centered care by communicating effectively with caregivers and the care team.
• Coordinate patient documentation and care plans using Epic when available.
• Support cross-department and cross-campus coverage needs while maintaining consistent quality of care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission.
• Possess current BLS certification.
• Hold current PALS certification (AHA only).
• Maintain NRP certification (preferred).
• Bring a minimum of 2 years of recent NICU experience, including Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience.
• Demonstrate preferred experience with Epic EMR and/or prior travel nursing experience.
