Job Overview: Roof Experts, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Chief Commercial Roofing Estimator to lead our estimating department. This position requires a deep understanding of roofing systems for new construction, re-roofing projects, and tenant finish-out jobs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in interpreting plans, blueprints, and project specifications and be well-versed in commercial roofing estimation techniques. Knowledge of stack estimating is a plus. This leadership role will oversee all estimating activities to ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the estimating department to ensure consistent and precise project cost evaluations.
• Review and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and equipment needs for commercial roofing projects.
• Estimate new construction roofing projects, including coordination with general contractors and review of project timelines.
• Assess re-roofing requirements to develop comprehensive proposals that meet building codes, client needs, and budget constraints.
• Prepare estimates for tenant finish-out projects, considering roofing modifications and adjustments required during interior build-outs.
• Utilize stack estimating software and other tools to create detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals. (Knowledge of stack estimating is a plus.)
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure alignment between estimates and client expectations.
• Oversee bid submissions and negotiations to ensure competitive pricing while maximizing profitability.
• Manage and mentor junior estimators, providing guidance on best practices, procedures, and industry standards.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing of materials and services.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, material pricing, and building codes to ensure compliance and competitiveness in the market.
• Provide project updates and reports to senior management on the status of estimates and bids.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience, with a focus on new construction, re-roofing, and tenant finish-out projects.
• In-depth understanding of construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including flat, metal, and modified bitumen roofs.
• Proficiency in estimating software (stack estimating experience is a plus) and other tools for detailed project analysis.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates.
• Experience in managing an estimating department or team.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors in the roofing industry.
