Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LCSW)

Columbia Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LPC, LCSW) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Washington, DC. In this role, you will provide outpatient psychotherapy and comprehensive mental health services to a diverse adult and adolescent population, delivering individualized, evidence-based care for a broad range of psychiatric and emotional conditions. As a therapist at Columbia Mental Health, you will conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments, develop and implement collaborative treatment plans, and provide ongoing individual, family, and group therapy as appropriate. You will utilize advanced therapeutic approaches—such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based modalities—to address anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma‑related disorders, relationship issues, and co‑occurring conditions. You will monitor treatment progress, adjust interventions as needed, and document all services in our electronic health record in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner. Collaboration and communication are central to this position. You will work closely with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, case managers, and other members of our interdisciplinary care team to coordinate holistic care that supports each patient’s overall well‑being. You will participate in case consultations, clinical team meetings, and regular care coordination with external providers, community resources, and family members when appropriate. You will also contribute to safety planning, risk assessments, and crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute distress, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and referrals.
