Your Responsibilities

As a Part-time Student - Factory Engineer for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL , you will:

• Investigate product and process related issues and recommend changes based on observations and salary/wage interactions
• Participate in the implementation for the resulting aforementioned activities
• Provide special engineering project support at the direction of the factory engineering team
• Provide analysis to support timely and accurate solutions to line side issues.
• Perform Audits or reviews, including inputting and maintaining information in factory databases and systems.
• Assist in investigations and corrective actions and leverage innovative ideas to best address long standing manufacturing issues.

What Skills You Need

• Ideally pursuing a bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering, data analytics, IT, or business program, with completed coursework in engineering- or science-related subjects, others may apply
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a local US-accredited university/college
• Graduation date of May 2028 or later
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Familiarity with information gathering and analysis techniques
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Strong communication skills with experience solving technical problems.
• Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
• Ability to work 16-20 hours during the academic year and 30-40 hours during the summer semester

What Makes You Stand Out

• Project or work experience in a manufacturing or technical field
• Demonstrable mechanical aptitude or familiarity and ability work within a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with drawing and schematic interpretation, product models and /or geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with software programming languages and /or ML familiarity
• Experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, software programming, troubleshooting, design, and manufacturing.
• SAP experience.
• Knowledge and experience with agricultural equipment or other off highway machinery.
