Specialty: Hematology/Oncology

Overview

Our organization is in search of a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for a full-time locum tenens position in Wisconsin. This ongoing opportunity arises from a long-term physician vacancy and provides a supportive and collaborative practice environment.

Position Highlights

Full-time work schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Continuing assignment
Inpatient and outpatient care
Part of an established multidisciplinary oncology team
Utilization of Cerner EMR
Temporary privileges can be arranged

Clinical Responsibilities

Focus on hematology practice
Perform bone marrow biopsies
Conduct inpatient and outpatient consultations
Manage patients with acute leukemia
Oversee chemotherapy administration
Daily rounding duties
Participate in call coverage rotation

Support & Resources

Collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs)
Dedicated nursing staff
Nurse navigators available
Support from infusion center staff
Access to radiation oncology services

Qualifications

MD or DO degree
Completion of a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
Board Eligible or Board Certified status
Current ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications
Experience with bone marrow biopsies is essential
Preferred strong experience in both inpatient and outpatient hematology

Call Coverage

1:4 call rotation
Primarily phone-based call responsibilities
Minimal call-back requirements
Shared responsibilities between clinic and hospital

Additional Details

Estimated credentialing duration: 60 days
Malpractice insurance provided
Travel and accommodation covered according to policy
Ongoing need with the possibility of a long-term assignment
