After training Drivers switch to component pay. Component pay is based on factors such as stops, miles, and cases. You'll safely navigate the highway and city streets, back into tight docks, and unload with precision.The CDL A Delivery Driver role goes beyond simply transporting goods - it’s about perfecting the craft of delivery, earning trust mile by mile, and serving as a vital link to our customers.\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Safe Driving: Deliver products to our customers in a timely and safe manner.\n Unloading: Skillfully unload products efficiently using a two-wheeler, ramp, or by hand, placing them in the designated storage areas – 100% touch freight.\n Delivery Verification: Verify deliveries with customers & secure signatures.\n Customer Service: Provide professional service to enhance customer experience.\n Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- & post-trip inspections to uphold safety standards.\n Account Management: Handle collections and payments when applicable.\n Adaptability: All other duties assigned by management.\n\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\n Lift/carry/push/pull/lower 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required.\n Driving & working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required.\n Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment as low as 0 degrees.\n Continuously grasp objects & manipulate objects. Frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel/bend, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.\n\n\nQualifications\n\n Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*\n Must be at least 21 years of age.\n Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.\n Minimum6-months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR3-months commercial driving experience in the foodand/or beverage delivery industryrequired.\n Ability tooperatemanual transmission preferred; may berequiredin specific locations.\n Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.\n\n\nAbout US FOODS®\nClick here to learn more!\n\n*Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. If you are able to login, but are having trouble with the Clearinghouse registration, see “Clearinghouse Help” field on the clearinghouse page.\n\nCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds).
