ASCP Certified Cath Lab Technologist
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the regional medical community of the Southern United States as a skilled Cath Lab Technologist. This role involves close collaboration with patients, physicians, and fellow healthcare professionals, ensuring a compassionate and professional environment guided by core ethical principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate specialized radiographic equipment for angiographic imaging, applying appropriate techniques and accessories to achieve high-quality diagnostic images.
- Perform post-processing of images following established protocols.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards when handling radiation-producing devices.
- Prepare patients thoroughly for radiologic procedures, ensuring all necessary documentation such as patient consent and history is completed before procedures begin.
- Assist physicians during procedures, including pre-procedural care, sterile scrub duties, and post-procedural patient management.
- Set up sterile trays and maintain sterile technique during diagnostic procedures.
- Cross-train in hemodynamic monitoring to support comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and safe work environment, performing equipment checks and tests prior to use.
- Follow universal precautions and promote compliance among staff and physicians.
- Ensure accurate billing for procedures and supplies, promptly reporting any discrepancies to leadership.
- Utilize downtime effectively by assisting in other departments as needed to support organizational goals.
Education and Experience:
- Certification as a Cath Lab Technologist or equivalent credentials such as ASCP certification preferred.
- Experience working in a high-pressure, team-oriented clinical environment is highly valued.
