Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c‑arm, and fluoroscopic procedures. Reviews patients’ clinical history to ensure appropriate orders and labs are within range; reviews with radiologist as necessary. Provides patient education. Selects and operates imaging equipment and accessories to successfully perform procedures. Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort. Initiates basic life support when necessary. Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors. Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Reports and documents XR safety incidents/adverse events per protocol. Processes images and reviews them for proper identification and quality control. Uses the radiology information system (including PACS) to complete all required records and reports, submitting images and data for physician review and interpretation. Assists with medical record/image sharing as necessary. Documents all information pertinent to XR/FL procedure in the electronic medical record, including medication reconciliation. Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners. Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients. Operates mobile radiologic equipment in the operating room, emergency room, or at the patient's bedside. Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special X‑ray examinations. Prepares contrast media and assists in administration. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. One (1) to Three (3) years of experience preferred. Will consider new graduates. Certification / Licensure ARRT Radiography registration required. IEMA‑DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois. WI‑DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin. Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days. Level of Supervision Works independently with limited direct supervision. Provides clinical supervision of allied health students and radiology aides. Pay Range $27.17 - $40.75 per hour.
