Job Description Responsible for supervision and safety of children Prepare materials required to implement daily activities Ensure the general health, welfare, and well-being of each child Assisting in lunch preparations and snacks Daily cleaning of classroom and materials Exhibit initiative by demonstrating leadership without being prompted Be an active participant in activities with the children Responsible for being a good communicator to all children, parents, supervisors, and co-workers, providing excellent customer service. Enroll and attend 16 hours of off-site in-service annually. Learn and observe all JCPRD guidelines, policies, and procedures. Salary: $16.00 per hour. Hours: 15-30 hours per week; flexible & schedules vary throughout the day from 7a-6p Seasonal Benefits & discounts on JCPRD classes Locations: Roeland Park Community Center and various elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission School District. Job Requirements Job Requirements: Minimum Age: 18 years and older High school diploma or equivalent 6 months of experience in early childhood education providing direct supervision to children 3-5 years old Additional Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. Self-motivation and ability to prioritize personal responsibilities and accomplish job tasks with autonomy from close supervision. Shows a knowledge and love of working with children.
