Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerLexington, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-09-28$1,915.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.Details16-bed ICU within a 96-bed teaching hospital that is a primary stroke centerAverage daily census of 10 patients with MICU-type diagnoses including ARDS, sepsis, COPD, DKA, and strokeRN to patient ratio of 2:1 for ICU patients and 3:1 for IMC patientsCNA support typically 1, sometimes 2 per shift12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700) at 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend (EOW) rotation requiredNo on-call or call-back requirementsFloating required to Med Surg (4:1 ratio) or ED as a resource without direct assignmentEPIC EMR usedRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) requiredBLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredMinimum 2 years of ICU experience requiredMinimum 12 months of core experience in unit specialty within the last yearSkilled in arterial line management, vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management and weaning, and chest tube managementExperience with EPIC EMR preferredLast 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for considerationAt least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional InformationProvide critical care nursing support including strong critical thinking skills in a fast-paced ICU environmentWork alongside a unit culture with many eager new grad nurses on nights who benefit from experienced mentorship24/7 support available from RT, hospitalists, and intensivistsCharge nurse, resource nurse, and phlebotomy support available on the unitUnit-specific equipment includes Bair Hugger, Verathon Bladder Scanner, and Blanketrol machineOrientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientationRoyal blue scrubs requiredFree parking providedTravelers will work approximately 75% of holidaysFirst-time travelers considered with strong ICU experienceCandidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligiblePrevious employees must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
