Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | On-Site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed neuro medical/surgical telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform and monitor telemetry, including NIH Stroke Scale assessments and neurological evaluations
• Assist with procedures including EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care
• Operate unit equipment including Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, COWs, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, and Teleneuro systems
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
• Fulfill weekend rotation expectations of approximately 4 shifts per schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact license eligibility)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a medical/surgical or telemetry setting
• No on-call requirements for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Prior experience in a neuro medical/surgical or telemetry unit
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Team-oriented, self-motivated work style with strong communication skills
