Site-Level Quality Leadership -- Experience managing a quality function, inspection team, or multidisciplinary group of quality SMEs across an active construction site. 

Risk-Based Quality Decision-Making -- Demonstrated ability to assess competing quality issues and determine which findings create the greatest risk.  

Direct Data Center QA/QC and Commissioning Fluency -- Experience supporting quality on data center construction projects, combined with credible knowledge of data center commissioning stages, critical MEP systems, testing, issue closure, and turnover.

Required Qualifications   

• Demonstrated experience managing inspectors, quality professionals, or discipline-specific SMEs on active construction projects. 
• Proven experience leading or supporting a site-level QA/QC program, not only performing inspections. 
• Direct data center construction experience strongly preferred, particularly on hyperscale or large mission-critical campuses. 
• Strong understanding of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. 
• Working knowledge of data center commissioning stages, terminology, testing, and turnover requirements. 
• Experience assessing quality risk and prioritizing findings according to project impact. 
• Experience managing NCRs, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of closure. 
• Experience reviewing MEP drawings, submittals, specifications, vendor documentation, and testing procedures. 
• Experience auditing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or third-party inspection organizations. 
• Experience developing quality metrics, dashboards, reports, and trend analysis. 
• Experience coordinating between design, construction, commissioning, and facility operations. 
• Ability to communicate difficult findings clearly, professionally, and proportionately. 
• Experience with construction quality and commissioning platforms such as ACC/BIM 360, Procore, CxAlloy, or comparable systems. 

Role Overview 

The QA/QC Program Engineer will support the site Quality Manager in leading and improving the construction quality program for a large, fast-paced hyperscale data center campus. This role is not an individual inspector position. The site already has civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and other discipline-specific inspectors who serve as technical subject matter experts. 

The QA/QC Program Engineer will help manage and coordinate those inspection resources, assess the significance of their findings, prioritize the issues that create the greatest project risk, and guide the site team toward appropriate corrective actions. The successful candidate must understand that not every quality finding requires the same level of escalation. This person must use sound judgment to distinguish routine workmanship issues from conditions that could affect:

Operational performance 

Schedule 

Cost 

Final turnover 

Primary Responsibilities 

Quality Leadership & Risk Management 

• Support the site Quality Manager in leading and coordinating discipline-specific inspectors and quality SMEs across active construction areas. 
• Prioritize quality findings based on safety, reliability, commissioning impact, schedule risk, and operational readiness. 
• Distinguish critical issues from routine deficiencies and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. 
• Communicate quality risks, recommendations, and escalation requirements to site leadership. 

QA/QC Program Management 

• Support development and continuous improvement of the site QA/QC program, procedures, inspection strategies, and quality standards. 
• Analyze quality trends, NCRs, audit results, and recurring issues to drive corrective and preventive actions. 
• Monitor quality metrics and provide actionable recommendations to construction and quality leadership. 
• Support standardization of quality processes across multiple contractors and trades. 
• Audits, NCRs & Corrective Actions 
• Lead contractor and trade-partner quality audits to verify compliance with approved quality requirements. 
• Manage NCRs and corrective actions from identification through verification and closure. 
• Validate that corrective actions address root causes and reduce repeat issues. 
• Escalate critical, aging, recurring, or commissioning-impacting deficiencies. 

Design Review & Technical Quality Oversight 

• Review MEP drawings, specifications, submittals, vendor documentation, and construction procedures. 
• Identify design conflicts, installation risks, and quality concerns before they impact commissioning or schedule. 
• Verify installed work meets approved design intent, project standards, and manufacturer requirements. 

Data Center Commissioning Integration 

• Support quality readiness from equipment procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover. 
• Review commissioning documentation, scripts, and test records for completeness and compliance. 
• Partner with commissioning teams to remove quality barriers to functional and integrated systems testing. 
• Demonstrate familiarity with hyperscale data center commissioning methodology, including FAT/FWT activities and industry-standard commissioning terminology. 

Turnover & Operational Readiness 

• Review turnover packages, testing records, NCRs, warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation. 
• Drive closure of outstanding quality issues prior to turnover. 
• Support successful handoff between construction, commissioning, and facility operations teams. 

Cross-Functional Leadership 

• Collaborate with quality leadership, construction teams, contractors, design engineers, vendors, and commissioning agents. 
• Translate technical findings into practical recommendations focused on project risk, reliability, and operational performance. 
• Maintain a partner-oriented approach while holding contractors accountable to quality requirements. 

 

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of El Paso, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
