Casualty Claims Examiner

Job Overview GEICO is seeking a Casualty Claims Examiner in Richardson, TX to work on a hybrid schedule. The role involves investigative, coverage determination, and settlement responsibilities for private passenger automotive liability and bodily injury claims. Job Responsibilities Provide exemplary customer service to policyholders and prospects throughout the claims process. Assure coverage for each loss and all policy provisions before processing payments. Investigate all aspects of the claim to determine liability percentage and legal responsibility. Identify and evaluate potential fraud indicators and escalate as appropriate. Utilize claims tools to evaluate liability and extent of damages, and establish value to pay only what is owed. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys from letter of representation through settlement or verdict. Authorize negotiated payments within designated authority, or submit requests for higher authority when needed. Ensure all compliance requirements are met in a timely, professional manner and in accordance with guidelines. Adjust reserves on new and existing claims appropriately. Participate as an active member of claims forums as required. Communicate findings to claims management and other stakeholders as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum five (5) years of successful bodily injury claims handling experience. Prior private passenger automotive liability claims experience. Active Adjuster license at time of hire. Litigation handling experience preferred but not required. Outstanding customer service and professional communication skills, both oral and written. Understanding and ability to execute and comply with Department of Insurance Guidelines and Requirements as established in the Insurance Code. Exceptional negotiating skills. Proficient computer skills, including ability to function in all Microsoft Office programs. Highly organized; ability to multi‑task and prioritize successfully in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment.
