Security Officer/PRN for Marion, SC, Florence, SC or Black River Medical Center

Job Summary MUSC/Marion, SC, MUSC/Florence, SC and MUSC/Black River Medical Center are seeking an experienced Security Officer on a PRN basis. Responsibilities A Security Officer is responsible for protecting and serving patients, staff, and visitors, monitoring and protecting facilities and assets, and operating access control systems, security cameras, intercoms, radios, telephones, and alarm systems. Patrol facilities and grounds Provide emergency assistance and response Interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement, and correctional officers Support relevant staff with security and safety concerns Maintain detailed notes, conduct investigations, interview witnesses, and write reports regarding incidents and events Qualifications Education : High School Diploma or GED, or 10 years of job related experience. Experience : Minimum one year of relevant experience or preferred healthcare, corporate security, or law enforcement experience. Licenses & Certifications : Valid driver’s license in the State of South Carolina, Handle with Care Crisis De-escalation course. Completion of IAHSS Basic Certification within six months of hire is preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (summarized): Maintain professionalism, deliver high level customer service, and engage with others. Don and wear personal protective equipment as required. Use radio equipment for communication. Respond quickly to emergent situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of crime prevention strategies, de-escalation tactics, and restraint techniques. Proficiency with computer systems, surveillance, access control, and alarm software. Complete MUHA Security training and perform responsibilities of a Security Officer. Physical Requirements Physical Demand Level: Occasional (up to 33% of the time), Frequent (34-66% of the time), Constant (67-100% of the time). Must perform job functions while standing, walking, and sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting 20 pounds unassisted, and carrying objects up to 15 pounds from 36” to overhead.
