Position Summary and Qualifications

Emergency Room Nurse

Registered Nurses are responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care. This role involves collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide both physical and emotional support to patients and their families. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, conducting assessments, creating personalized care plans, administering medications, maintaining documentation, educating patients, ensuring proper equipment usage, and communicating patient needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, document, and report any changes in patients' conditions while keeping precise and thorough records.

  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess and identify patient conditions.

  • Exhibit knowledge of human growth and development, assessment techniques, treatment options, and care tailored to the age groups of patients served.

  • Encourage hospital customer service initiatives.

  • Apply the nursing process to provide individualized care that meets patient needs.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing technical skills and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Current RN licensure from the TN Board of Nursing or a compact state Board of Nursing.

  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

  • ACLS and PALS certifications to be obtained within one year of employment.

  • CPI certification to be completed within six months of employment.

Our facility is a 250+ bed hospital recognized as Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. We feature three helipads, newly constructed ICU and Medical/Surgical units, and specialized burn care services. Additionally, we offer a CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation program and are an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center. As an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI capabilities, we are a leading provider of emergency cardiac care.
