The position reports to the Structures, Analysis, and Mechanism Manager and is part of the Propulsion and Test Department based in Mojave, California. This role is onsite or hybrid.In this role, the essential functions are:Lead a team of mechanical engineers for primary/secondary structure and mechanismsCoordinate day-to-day tasks across the teamDevelop and ensure tools, methods, and best practices are followedReview technical content, such as CAD drawings, analysis, and test reports meet standardsCreate and execute test plans and document the resultsCreate designs, analysis and test plansManage vendors to procure components, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are metPresent programmatic and technical contentMinimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of experience in the mechanical or Aerospace field.Experience designing structural and mechanism components and assembliesKnowledge of how to analyze components to harsh environments (vibration, shock, acoustic)Manage vendors to procure components, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are metPreferred qualifications:M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExperience developing hardware and systems for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehiclesTravel, physical, and/or government mandated requirements:Travel up to 5%, including the possibility of overnights within the United StatesAbility to lift, move or carry items or equipment up to 50 poundsThe good faith base salary range for this role is $120,000–$150,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive.
