Tech Lead

Description: Hybrid 3-4 days onsite in New York, NY Our client is seeking a Tech Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership for an Ad Sales Modernization engagement. The role drives architecture decisions, ensures delivery quality, and aligns cross-workstream technical dependencies. It bridges product and execution by translating business requirements into scalable, well-architected solutions while contributing to day-to-day development alongside the team. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $90.00 to $100.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities: Own the development of new cloud-based solutions for advertising across linear and digital advertising. Drive architecture designs from whiteboard through implementation, from system-level decisions down to sprint-level story execution. Lead technical sprint planning, backlog refinement, and story decomposition. Remove technical blockers and make timely trade-off decisions. Ensure delivery milestones are met with production-quality outputs. Actively contribute to the codebase, write code, conduct code reviews, and resolve critical bugs. Align technical dependencies across AdTech Modernization and related workstreams. Collaborate with UX on journey skeleton implementation and front-end architecture. Partner with the Program Lead to surface risks early. Mentor and guide engineers on best practices, code quality, and AWS-native patterns. Conduct design reviews and code reviews for critical components. Onboard new team members on tooling, architecture context, and access. Represent the technical perspective in SteerCo and governance forums. Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to flash reports and status updates with technical progress and risk callouts. Experience Requirements: 10+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience with expertise across compute, storage, data, and serverless services. Proven experience building, modernizing, and launching advertising technology applications within media and entertainment. Ability to drive architecture design through day-to-day development, comfortable at the whiteboard and in the IDE. Hands-on builder mindset with production-quality code contributions. Background in cloud-native architectures and large-scale modernization or migration programs. Comfort operating in ambiguity during early program phases, including MVP scoping and data modeling. Ability to lead through influence across distributed teams. Preferred: Local to the Tri-State area. Preferred: Experience building AI-native applications.
