Data Entry Specialist

A public sector organization in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Data Entry Specialist for a long-term temporary opportunity supporting high-volume data entry, record maintenance, and information review. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable using Excel, able to maintain accuracy while working with large volumes of information, and can quickly learn new systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Update, maintain, and track information across spreadsheets and internal databases. Review records from multiple sources to ensure information is complete, accurate, and properly documented. Sort, organize, and analyze data to support department operations and reporting needs. Conduct routine audits and quality checks to verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies. Research and validate information using internal systems and online resources as needed. Support administrative projects, operational tasks, and sensitive record handling with discretion. Compensation and Benefits Pay Rate: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour. Job Type: Long-term temporary. Required Qualifications and Skills 1 to 2 years of administrative, clerical, data entry, order processing, or related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including entering, sorting, organizing, and reviewing data. Ability to learn new systems, databases, and department procedures quickly. Strong accuracy, organization, and time management skills. Comfortable working with large volumes of information while maintaining quality standards. Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting a government, public sector, or highly regulated administrative environment.
