Description:

The Financial Aid Office at Helene Fuld College of Nursing is dedicated to assisting both return and first-time applicants in their financial aid journey. 

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid , the Financial Aid Counselor will join a service-oriented team and will be responsible for counseling students and parents in the areas of financial aid.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide top level customer service, advice, and counsel students and families as they make decisions about college planning and financing. Key contact for incoming candidates during the admissions interview process.

• Perform need-analysis and clear financial aid exceptions in Anthology/Ellucian the College’s Student Information System.
• Perform daily/weekly ISIR corrections.
• Work as a team to innovate and coordinate outreach activities to current and prospective students to improve completion rates.
• Provide back-up support in various office functions.
• Maintain knowledge of federal and institutional financial aid regulations and requirements to ensure consistent administration of federal, state, and institutions financial aid funds

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• This position is an on-campus position with the potential for a hybrid (on campus and remote) schedule in the future. This position is not designed to be performed primarily remotely.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with at least three years (3) of financial aid experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Demonstrated service aptitude and ability to work independently as well as with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information.
• Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Anthology financial aid software. Preferred but not required.
• Counseling experience in a higher education setting.
• Knowledge of Federal Title IV and New York State regulations.

Salary Range: $55,000- $65,000 Annually
