Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal to provide critical case management and technical support throughout the entire lifecycle of civil litigation. This role focuses on extensive document management, detailed medical record summarizing, and comprehensive trial preparation.

Job Responsibilities for the Litigation Paralegal:

• Drafting and editing of discovery and related legal documents
• Set up and maintain files
• Proofread work for content, accuracy of copy, format, grammar, punctuation and syntax
• Acquisition, review, summarizing and indexing of case documents
• Monitor case calendars
• Oral and written communications with clients and other contacts
• Factual (and limited Legal) research
• Trial preparation including compilation of notebooks and exhibits

Qualification for the Litigation Paralegal:

• At least 3-5 years minimum previous litigation experience required; specifically in insurance defense
• Experience requesting medical records and preparing in depth medical summaries
• Top-notch written and verbal communication skills along with effective interaction skills
• Must have in depth understanding of legal terms and court rules & procedures
• Gathering appropriate information associated with active cases to include but not limited to: seeking witnesses, planning the pleading, acquiring affidavits, etc.
• Excellent proofreading and word processing abilities
• Advanced Microsoft Office, Outlook, Power Point
• Document Management Software is a plus
• Paralegal certificate is preferred but not mandatory

Compensation for the Litigation Paralegal:

$30 - $32 hourly
