Social Worker

Position Summary

This candidate will work solely on a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to clients with first episode schizophrenia. Caseload size is approximately 40 and the ages of the clients range from 14-26. Responsibilities will include comprehensive psychosocial assessments, diagnostic formulations, family and group psychotherapy, administration of outcomes measures, crisis intervention when appropriate, maintaining timely clinical documentation in electronic health record, and obtaining insurance authorizations when appropriate. Candidate will work closely with team psychiatrists, other therapists, case manager and program administrator. Other responsibilities of assisting with community outreach with organizations around Baltimore for the purpose of referrals and education occur less regularly.

Education:

• MSW required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively within an integrated interdisciplinary team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of community resources.
• Knowledge of and ability to gather relevant data to synthesize and summarize information in making judgments regarding patient care.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate/exchange and interact effectively and professionally with hospital staff, agency health care professionals, patients and families.
• Prioritizes work in a timely and effective manner.
• Proficiency with an electronic patient record, email, general office and communications equipment.

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:

• Maryland LMSW required

Work Experience:

• Up to one-year experience, healthcare related field preferred 
• Field placement may be considered in work experience
