Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed acute care unit utilizing a Team-Based Care model, collaborating daily with MDs, case management, pharmacy, and PT/OT
- Perform and manage IV starts, central venous lines (CVL), arterial lines, and Foley catheter insertion and maintenance
- Conduct continuous EKG monitoring and perform wound care as indicated
- Operate and monitor unit equipment including IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, and lift equipment
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR; access medications via Pyxis
- Participate in weekend rotation and holiday staffing per scheduling matrix; float to TCU as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- BLS certification required prior to start
- ACLS certification required (must be completed prior to end of orientation)
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment caring for patients ranging from med/surg to ICU level
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior ICU or stepdown/PCU experience strongly preferred
- At least 1 year of med/surg experience preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR
