High School Literacy Interventionist (Title I) - Roosevelt Starting Date: Aug 10, 2026 Job Description DMPS is seeking a Literacy Interventionist for Roosevelt High School. This position requires either a 5-12 English/Language Arts endorsement or a 5-12 Reading endorsement. Key Details Title: High School Literacy Interventionist (Title I) Position Type: TCHR (Full Time) Department: Teaching and Learning Reports To: Building Principal Receiving Guidance: Building Principal and Associate Principal Days: 195 or 199 day contract, Hours: 7.75 Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, reaching/pushing/pulling, lifting carrying Working Conditions: Mostly indoors with some outdoor responsibilities during arrival/dismissal Hiring Specifications Required Qualifications: 5-12 English Language Arts endorsement (or 5-12 Reading endorsement) Experience with data literacy and ability to analyze and report data Experience leading professional development or serving as a PLC lead Experience in planning, implementing, and integrating supports for tiered intervention needs Desired: 5-12 Reading endorsement Essential Functions The academic interventionist serves students in a Title I Target and Schoolwide program with support for at‑risk students within the school’s MTSS. Coordinate and provide strategic supplemental academic instruction to meet individual student needs. Identify students in need of supplemental interventions to support core instruction. Collaborate with classroom teachers, PLCs, administration, and families to identify best practices for individual and small groups. Plan and teach interventions based on student learning needs using high-quality, research-based materials aligned to the Science of Reading. Use data to guide instruction, support access to core instruction, and deliver foundational skill building and just‑in‑time learning tied to core standards. Monitor student learning daily and use multiple data points to guide group and individualized instruction. Ensure intervention sequences align with classroom instruction and building MTSS. Document interventions in Panorama Student Success and record monitoring data. Use graphs and progress monitoring data to make instructional decisions. Participate in professional learning communities and literacy training for staff. Assist in the planning and implementation of building professional development. Communicate with families regularly. Demonstrate consistent progress toward meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards. Attend appropriate PLCs as directed by building administration. Report holistic and aggregated data on student progress in intervention during building quarterly reviews. Additional Essential Functions (for all DMPS positions) Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees. Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
