6+ years of mechanical engineering experience on flying vehicles Experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into unmanned air vehicles Experience designing mechanical parts (Solidworks/ePDM preferred). Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, composite lamination, etc) High competency and use of engineering first principles Experience developing aircraft subsystem layouts, performing architectural trade studies, and evaluating supplier performance data Competency in engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and electrical BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering Has or able to receive a Secret clearance Job Description An employer sitting in Moorpark, CA is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer III that will be working a 9/80 schedule. The Mechanical Engineer III will be supporting their product line that offers a wide variety of products such as an autonomous helicopter, VTOL UAS, AI systems etc. He/she will apply their engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanically functioning equipment. This individual will be a part of a design team focused on development of the next generation UAV systems and their subsystems, being hands on with the product and it's assembly, the dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) all the way through to field testing.
