Industrial Maintenance Technician

This role supports the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of gas, chemical, and slurry distribution systems in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. As a Level I and II Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical piping and distribution systems that run throughout the facility, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and safely. You will receive structured training on specialized equipment and work closely with an experienced team to support system startup, shutdown, and routine operations on day shift schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chemical and slurry distribution systems to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, filters, valves, panels, and piping systems to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic control or instrumentation issues as they arise.
• Respond promptly to equipment alarms and emergency calls to restore system functionality and maintain safety.
• Perform equipment and part checks, inspections, and parameter monitoring to identify issues before they impact operations.
• Support system startup, shutdown, flushing, chemical changeovers, and similar on-site activities as required.
• Safely handle chemicals and slurry in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), MSDS/SDS documentation, and safety rules.
• Replace parts such as filters, sensors, and other components when required to keep systems operating effectively.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately and complete thorough shift handover reports to ensure continuity between shifts.
• Support new equipment installations, system modifications, and related project activities on site.
• Follow all procedures required by law and by the customer, including EHS, PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and chemical safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and trainers to learn and apply best practices on specialized gas and chemical distribution equipment.

Essential Skills:

• 15 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
• Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation used in industrial systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including industrial electrical systems and 3-phase power.
• Mechanical aptitude with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, and general mechanical repair.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment in a service or maintenance setting.
• Willingness to work shifts, on-call rotations, and in cleanroom, FAB, and startup environments.
• Strong safety mindset with consistent adherence to EHS, PPE, LOTO, and chemical safety procedures.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with other technicians and operations staff.
• Minimum OSHA 10 (General Industry) training.
• Hazwoper training for working with hazardous materials and environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in semiconductor facilities or similar high-tech manufacturing environments.
• Experience with chemical, slurry, ultrapure water (UPW), or similar industrial fluid systems.
• Background in roles such as Megasys Technician, Chemical Technician, Chemical Maintenance Technician, or Chemical Equipment Technician.
• Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices, including preventive maintenance programs and documentation.
• Comfort working around complex gas, chemical, and slurry distribution systems.
• Ability to learn specialized equipment and processes through structured training and on-the-job experience.

Work Environment:

This role is based in a semiconductor manufacturing facility where gas, chemical, and slurry distribution systems run throughout the building. The starting schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the foreseeable future, providing a consistent day-shift routine during initial training and ramp-up. The position will support A shift and C shift, which are the two day shifts; A shift is likely scheduled Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday with 12-hour shifts, while C shift is likely scheduled Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday with 12-hour shifts. You will work in cleanroom, FAB, and startup environments, handling chemicals and slurry while following strict safety procedures, including the use of PPE, adherence to EHS guidelines, and compliance with LOTO and chemical safety protocols. The role involves working with industrial equipment such as pumps, valves, filters, panels, piping systems, and electrical components, including 3-phase power, in a highly controlled and safety-focused setting.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
