The Logistics Specialist will oversee the execution of truck logistics and fleet management in close coordination with various internal departments. This position will manage the truck freight profit and loss (P&L), which includes forecasting freight costs and managing execution against these forecasts. It also interacts and actively contributes to other corporate functions, driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee the price risk management of truck freight, ensuring the right balance between capacity availability, service reliability, and spend optimization.
  • Approve freight invoices, conduct thorough freight variance analysis, and develop actionable plans to implement improvements and address discrepancies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized processes in both freight management and execution across the organization to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Lead and participate in transportation technology initiative by managing integration and daily execution at the local level.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles, with a significant focus on truck freight management or equivalent agriculture industry experience.
  • Experience in carrier relationship management, contract negotiation, and procurement of transportation services.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting to drive logistics performance.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to secure favorable terms with carriers and other service providers.
  • Proactive and innovative approach to identifying and resolving logistical challenges.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (carriers, suppliers, customers).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
