Medical Assistant

Adecco Healthcare & Life Science is looking for a Medical Assistant for our client in Forest Hills, NY ! This is an onsite position. Please review details below and apply with a current resume for consideration.

Type: Four-month contract, with possibility for extension or full time offer

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule: 40 hours per week, clinic is open 7 days between 8AM and 7PM

Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant

· Obtains vital signs, weights, and hearing and vision testing when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice.

· Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists in escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility.

· Performs laboratory test procedures within established criteria.

· Adheres to safety and scientifically accepted infection control practices and standards

· Stocks exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms. Notify the Office Manager when supplies are low.

· Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient. Assists with light housekeeping duties which include spills.

· Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use.

· Assists patients and communicate with Physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed.

Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:

· High school diploma / GED

· Medical assistant experience

· Phlebotomy and Pediatric experience preferred

· EPIC experience preferred
