Electrical Engineer

Job Overview Independent Electrical Engineer (Senior Consultant) providing technical due diligence, engineering validation, and lifecycle monitoring for downstream oil & gas, midstream, and pipeline projects under the DOE Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) Program. Responsibilities Deliver bankable, technically defensible engineering reports, including single‑line diagrams, load studies, protection coordination, electrical inspections, and system performance reports. Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks, propose mitigations, and support lender/DOE decisions. Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders. Perform data‑room reviews, borrower interfaces, site observations, monitoring meetings, risk register updates, and draw package checks. Qualifications and Experience 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, environmental, or related technical field. Professional credentials such as PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI preferred. Experience with oil & gas, power, utilities, or large‑scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, or federal clients. Skills Independent engineering review and technical due diligence under DOE LPO‑EDF guidelines. Electrical systems, power distribution, protection, reliability, and code compliance. Data‑room review, information‑request tracking, Excel‑based analysis, report writing, and stakeholder presentation. Business Tools and Competencies Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, Visio. Strong analytical judgment, independence, objectivity, attention to detail, and client service orientation. Cross‑functional collaboration, issue escalation, quality mindset, schedule discipline, and ability to translate technical evidence into actionable risk, compliance, and financing implications.
