Electrician / Conveyor Technician

Pay Rate: $32.00–$37.00/hour

Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Conveyor Maintenance Technician to join the facility maintenance team of multi-skilled technicians at a facility in Robbinsville, NJ.

The technician will be responsible for the advanced troubleshooting, repair, operation, care, and preventive maintenance of electrical distribution systems and associated equipment, including low-voltage systems up to 480 volts and medium-voltage systems up to 15 kV .

The role also involves conveyor maintenance, planned shutdown support, responding to service requests, electrical monitoring, equipment evaluations, and general facility maintenance.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, controls, and systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC and motor control systems .
• Troubleshoot and maintain VFD drives , lighting, and power systems.
• Work with electrical distribution systems including:
• • 120V
  • 277V
  • 480V
  • 4160V
  • 15 kV
• Maintain and troubleshoot substations, switchgear, transformers, cables, relays, and meters.
• Perform electrical and conveyor-related maintenance and repairs.
• Utilize automated building controls and electrical monitoring systems.
• Respond to customer service requests and work orders.
• Provide feedback to customers regarding power, lighting, and maintenance status.
• Analyze equipment problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs.
• Identify potential equipment failures through independent equipment evaluations.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Assist with organizing and coordinating planned electrical shutdowns.
• Coordinate annual planned electrical shutdowns and related work with outside contractors.
• Develop work plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Create and modify site operating procedures.
• Recommend facility reliability improvements.
• Perform general maintenance duties as required.
• Assist, train, and coach other technicians when appropriate.
• Serve as a technical resource for resolving complex maintenance problems.
• Operate diagnostic and testing equipment, including meggers, voltmeters, and multimeters .
• Use hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic hardware to perform maintenance work.
• Respond to work orders and ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Follow all Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) programs and procedures.
• Follow Arc Flash, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
• 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment , or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) / NFPA 70 .
• Ability to work from aerial lifts or scissor lifts at heights of 30 feet or higher .
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Ability to identify and correct safety-related issues.
• Ability to read and understand electrical systems, controls, and equipment.
• Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs .
• Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs.
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders at least 10 times during a shift .
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, and reach repetitively.
• Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to walk extensively throughout the facility during the shift.
• Ability to work at heights of 30 feet or higher using aerial or scissor lifts.
• Ability to differentiate colors for wire identification and color coding.
• Ability to perform repetitive wrist movements.
• Ability to cope with job-related stress and maintain acceptable performance.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and coworkers.
