About the Role

We are looking for a Community Engagement Specialist with a focus on the Volunteer Program and Events to join our team and play an important role in supporting CACs mission.

In this position, you will:

• Support the execution of our volunteer program and community events and ensure a positive, well-organized, and rewarding experience that advances the organization's mission.

What Youll Be Responsible For

Your day-to-day may include:

• Provide volunteer support, supervision, and recognition
  • Daily check ins with walk team in conjunction with the CE Coordinator
    • Engages with volunteers and leads at Walk Team ensuring coverage for all shifts
  • Greets corporate volunteer groups for group dog walks, enrichment activities, and service projects (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, as needed, per schedule)
    • Supports corporate and regular volunteers during on-site visits via check ins and being available onsite
  • Communicate with volunteer trainees and active volunteers regarding shifts, training updates, and ongoing opportunities
  • Conduct regular inventories of the Volunteer Hub to ensure all necessary supplies are available
  • Lead coordination of recognition events and efforts with CE Coordinator
  • Address volunteer concerns and escalate disciplinary matters as needed
• Serves are primary point of contact for new volunteers
  • Supports new volunteers through onboarding and successful first shift
  • Execute recruitment initiatives in collaboration with the CE V&E Coordinator
  • Conduct outreach to corporate, civic, university, and community partners
  • Manages data entry, communication, and registration with prospective volunteers
• Prioritizes communication to ensure consistency and best practices of the organization
  • Supports posting volunteer opportunities as they arise, in the volunteer Facebook group and via an email through Digital Cheetah
  • Respond promptly to volunteer inquiries, providing support for Better Impact and other systems
  • Data entry, admin tasks, as needed
  • Respond to all emails, texts, and messages in a timely manner
• Maintain onsite CAC merchandise and volunteer t-shirts inventory and assist with organizing sales or distributions at both locations

Event-Specific Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all Dine-to-Donate, Cuddle CARE-a-Vans, and Donation Drive inquiries from start to finish
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for brand awareness tabling events.
  • Support the coordination of community events by attending, transporting supplies, and setup and teardown
    • Transport event materials (tent, table, marketing materials) in personal vehicles, and ensure proper setup and breakdown at events.
    • Ensure all marketing totes and supplies are accounted for, stocked, and stored properly at all times
• Attend community events as assigned to engage with the public, represent Cincinnati Animal CARE, and provide information about programs and services
  • Capture photos and videos during events for social media and reporting purposes

• Supporting additional organizational needs as they arise

Qualifications

Preferred/Required:

• Passion for animal welfare and community engagement
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Friendly, approachable in engaging with diverse groups of people with a non judgemental, positive attitude, having trust in our community
• Proficient with technology and a willingness to learn, including becoming proficient in Digital Cheetah, Google Drive products, and social media platforms
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working around animals, including dogs and cats, and handling them when needed.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license and current insurance
• Flexible schedule, with availability to work occasional evenings for events and weekends.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 45 lbs. and transport event materials in a personal vehicle
• While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. The team member may occasionally reach, bend, or lift and carry items up to 1525 pounds.
