Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will maintain and improve machinery performance, support production uptime, and collaborate closely with plant leadership to prioritize and complete daily maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment to reduce downtime and extend machine life.
• Maintain an appropriate and organized inventory of parts and supplies required for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Use data analysis from equipment and maintenance records to anticipate issues and help prevent future problems.
• Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs, including performing quality checks on all machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot problem areas on mechanical and electrical systems and develop clear, actionable plans to repair or replace necessary parts.
• Oversee and perform equipment repairs, ensuring work is completed correctly and safely.
• Collaborate with the plant manager and production leads to determine and execute daily maintenance priorities.
• Assemble, document, and update operational and maintenance procedures for new and existing equipment.
• Order parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Repair machines in strict accordance with safety procedures and company standards.
• Verify that all equipment is in good working order and ready to support production requirements.
• Respond to extended hours and plant downtime situations as needed to restore equipment operation.
• Perform additional maintenance tasks and projects as assigned by the plant manager.
• Interpret machine codes and diagnostic indicators to identify potential issues and guide troubleshooting.
• Read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Perform basic welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 1–3+ years of experience working in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
• Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in a production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems, including industrial equipment.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a variety of production machinery.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including working with 3-phase power.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of safe repair practices and adherence to established safety procedures.
• Ability to oversee repairs and coordinate with plant leadership on maintenance priorities.
• Willingness and availability to work extended hours during plant downtime or shutdowns when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CNC router and optimizer maintenance is highly desirable but not required.
• Ability to use data analysis and machine codes to diagnose issues and plan maintenance.
• Basic welding skills for equipment repair and fabrication.
• Comfort working in an industrial, non-climate-controlled environment with dust, sawdust, and wood chips.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with some Saturday overtime as business needs require. The role is based in an active production facility that is non-climate controlled and can be dusty and dirty, with exposure to dust and dirt. You will work around industrial machinery and equipment, following appropriate safety procedures and wearing suitable work attire for an industrial maintenance setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pontotoc, MS.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $45760.00/yr.
