Production Assistant

Production Assistant Assists the Shift Foreman in operating and maintaining production systems and mechanical equipment. Most of the job is on the production line, including bagging and stacking finished goods to prepare for shipment. Some maintenance will be done by the assistant with proper training. Forklifts will be operated by an assistant in the warehouse and outside to load trucks with proper training. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Following written and/or verbal instructions from the shift foreman Bagging and stacking of finished goods Preparing shipments and loading trucks using forklift Assisting the QC department Performing housekeeping tasks Following safety requirements Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with detecting malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubrication and assisting with the repair or adjustment Education and Experience Requirements Education: High School diploma or GED Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively to customers, suppliers or employees of the organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate figures and amounts such as averages, percentages and volume Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Physical/Environmental Aspects Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, reach, climb, balance, walk and kneel Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Work Environment: Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, weather conditions, high areas, extreme heat near the furnaces and hot cyclones, and moderate noise levels Position Type Full time and Permanent Only technical issues will be monitored through the below inbox: View email address on click.appcast.io PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT RESUMES OR APPLICATIONS TO THIS EMAIL, AS THEY WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.
