Role Description
The Compliance Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Santa Rosa, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for ensuring that PEP Housing’s properties, programs, and resident files comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as funder and agency requirements. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring regulatory changes, performing compliance reviews and audits, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing reports for internal stakeholders and external agencies. The Compliance Specialist collaborates with property management and leadership teams to resolve compliance issues, support staff training, and implement policies and procedures that uphold PEP Housing’s mission and standards. The role also involves responding to compliance-related inquiries and supporting continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Qualifications
- Strong compliance management skills, including experience implementing and maintaining Compliance Management frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Compliance requirements relevant to affordable housing and nonprofit operations.
- Ability to interpret and apply Legal Compliance standards, policies, and contracts in a practical housing context.
- Excellent Analytical Skills for reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Relevant experience in affordable housing, property management, or nonprofit compliance is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency with office software and data management tools; experience with housing or compliance software is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
