Salary: 47,000–50,000 annually, based on experience

About the Role

Women’s Employment Network (WEN) is seeking a people-centered, dependable Program Specialist to support program delivery, participant engagement, community outreach, and program operations.

The Program Specialist works collaboratively across WEN to help deliver high-quality programming and a positive participant experience. This role combines workshop facilitation, direct participant support, community engagement, technology, documentation, and administrative responsibilities.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, is comfortable presenting and facilitating, stays organized, works well as part of a team, and is willing to learn new systems and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Participant Support

• Facilitate and support workshops and educational sessions using WEN-developed curriculum in person, virtually through Zoom, and at community partner locations.

• Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for participants with different backgrounds, experiences, and levels of confidence.

• Assist participants with program resources, career tools, technology, and other WEN services.

• Support workshop preparation, scheduling, participant communications, materials, registration, and follow-up.

• Learn and use WEN’s systems and digital tools to support programming and participant engagement.

Community & Program Support

• Represent WEN at community partner locations, outreach activities, events, job fairs, and other community-based programming.

• Support relationships and programming with community organizations, social service agencies, and referral partners.

• Help connect participants with appropriate WEN and community resources.

• Work collaboratively with staff across WEN to support programs, events, participant needs, and special projects.

• Provide cross-departmental support as organizational needs arise.

Data & Administrative Support

• Maintain accurate participant and program records, including attendance, engagement, outreach activities, and other required documentation.

• Complete data entry and documentation needed for program tracking and reporting.

• Assist with scheduling, participant communications, program logistics, and record maintenance.

• Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential information.

• Support staff with routine administrative responsibilities related to programs and participant services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.

• Two or more years of relevant professional experience preferred.

• Experience presenting, teaching, training, facilitating, or supporting workshops or group learning environments.

• Experience working directly with clients, participants, students, customers, or community members.

• Strong communication, organization, administrative, and documentation skills.

• Comfort using technology and the willingness and ability to learn new systems and digital tools.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable transportation for local community-based programming and events.

Work Environment

This is an in-person position based at Women’s Employment Network in Kansas City, Missouri. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The role includes programming and activities at community partner locations throughout the Kansas City area. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for workshops, community activities, or WEN events.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is 47,000–50,000 annually, based on experience.
