About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; 3 years preferred with experience in relevant surgical procedures. License: Valid state license required; must be in hand. Certifications: ACLS preferred, BCLS required. Must-Have: Ability to float between main operating room and outpatient surgery center. Description: OR Nurse position available for a day shift. Variable 12-hour shifts will be scheduled from Sunday to Saturday. Shifts may include early 0630 - 1900, 0930 - 2200, or 1030 - 2300. On-call duties are required during specific hours. Weekend and holiday on-call coverage is also required. Candidate must have experience with various surgical procedures detailed in the job description. Unit will not accept candidates who are first-timers. Block schedule accommodations are considered at management's discretion. Candidates should possess skills in multiple surgical areas and must demonstrate experience with essential equipment and procedures. Work will involve interaction with patients across various age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census includes approximately 20 patients. The operating room consists of multiple surgical suites, each assigned to different specialties. Travel experience is required and applicants should provide references from previous positions within the last three years. Adaptability and the ability to respond to clinical situations are expected. Candidates should have knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols. All travelers should be prepared to float between facilities as needed, and refusal to do so may result in assignment termination. This position is expected to contribute to a collaborative healthcare team environment.
