Instrumentation Technician

Job Highlights Responsible for installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments. Field instruments include pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, switches, analyzers, recorders, controllers, I/P's, control valves, boiler control systems, etc. Ability to troubleshoot PLC and DCS hardware problems. Ability to work outdoors in an industrial environment. Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes. The schedule for this position is Monday‑Friday 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Must be willing to work overtime and respond to calls on weekends and evenings as needed. Experience and Skills Two‑year degree or certificate in Instrument Technology or a related field. Ability to troubleshoot open and closed loop systems and controllers. Bench set actuators and mounts for control valves. Install and set up a positioner on a control valve. Interpret valve markings and nameplate information. Identify valve components from specific drawings. Basic computer knowledge. Work in a safe manner and use proper safety equipment. Physical Requirements Walk, climb, squat, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, or stand for long periods of time. Lift/carry up to 60 lbs. Wear necessary PPE, including respirator and SCBA (must be clean‑shaven). Work in a physical outdoor industrial environment, including during inclement weather. Work in confined spaces and at elevated locations. Use a fire extinguisher or other firefighting equipment in emergency situations. Successfully pass the pre‑screening requirements, including a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Respirator test (must be clean‑shaven), and drug screen. Location Kalama Employee Type Regular Compensation $50.44 per hour, inclusive of a global bonus program.
