Job Summary Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) for a 13‑week assignment in Puyallup, Washington. Location & Schedule Facility: Puyallup, Washington Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week, 12‑hour days Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications Minimum one year recent experience as an OR RN Valid RN license in Washington State BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required Preferred Qualifications ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certification CNOR certification Other certifications as required by the facility Essential Work Functions Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready. Assist in positioning and preparing patients, addressing concerns, ensuring comfort and safety. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols. Anticipate surgical team needs, providing instruments and supplies promptly. Monitor patients during surgery, document changes, and notify the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments, ensuring proper usage, sterilization, and disposal. Collect, label, and transport specimens for accurate diagnostics. Document all patient care aspects accurately and thoroughly. Participate in handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases. Clean and restock the operating room between cases, following infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follow hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. English proficiency – read, write, and communicate effectively. Ability to understand written instructions, follow verbal directions, and use PC skills. Physical: remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal: collaborate with diverse personnel and maintain a professional attitude. Technical: perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and equipment. Mental: cope with frequent public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, and handle irregular schedules. Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication.
