Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of a manufacturing facility. This role oversees production, maintenance, quality, logistics, safety, and administrative functions while ensuring operational objectives are achieved efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, the Plant Manager will partner closely with sales and operations teams to support customer requirements, drive financial performance, and foster a strong team-oriented culture.

Summary

The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing leader with demonstrated P&L ownership, strong operational management experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. This individual will drive continuous improvement, maintain high quality standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, and customer service.

Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of plant operations including production, maintenance, quality control, warehousing, delivery, inventory management, staffing, and safety.
Maintain full profit and loss responsibility for the facility and provide regular financial analysis and reporting.
Develop and execute manufacturing schedules based on customer demand and production capacity.
Manage procurement of raw materials and production supplies while controlling inventory levels and operating costs.
Monitor labor, production, warehousing, and transportation expenses to improve profitability.
Prepare and manage annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Lead, coach, and develop plant personnel through performance management and employee development initiatives.
Maintain rigorous controls around raw material usage, waste reduction, and inventory accuracy.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment through training, inspections, and compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
Ensure all operational records, certifications, reports, and regulatory requirements are maintained accurately.
Drive quality initiatives and maintain compliance with established quality control programs.
Oversee preventative maintenance programs and the upkeep of plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
Review production reports, maintenance logs, quality reports, and operational metrics to improve plant performance.
Lead weekly operational and sales coordination meetings.
Partner with customers and sales teams to ensure exceptional service and resolve delivery or product concerns.
Travel occasionally to company meetings and other manufacturing locations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required
Supervisory and management experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain a team-focused culture.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to effectively manage maintenance personnel and equipment operations.
Experience managing inventory controls and production planning.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
Five or more years of manufacturing leadership experience.
Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
Previous P&L responsibility within a manufacturing operation.
