Job Description:


VHS is seeking a qualified Neurological Surgeon for locum coverage. The provider will be responsible for inpatient and outpatient neurosurgery services, including complex spine cases. The schedule involves clinic hours and on-call duties, with specific coverage needs as outlined below:

• Coverage Type: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Schedule: Clinic and Call
• Call Responsibilities: Weeknight beeper and 24-hour weekend beeper call from Nov 21 to Dec 8 and Dec 27 to Jan 5.
• Clinic Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays
• On-Call Hours: Night call from 5:00 PM to 8:30 AM; weekend coverage includes 24-hour call
• Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per day
• Overtime Eligibility: Hours worked over 9 hours per day qualify for OT
• Additional Duties: Participation in complex spine surgeries; Fluoro certification required (temporary is acceptable)

Credentialing Requirements:

• Current CV with all hospital affiliations uploaded
• Active or IMLC license
• DEA license required
• Board Certified in Neurosurgery or truly Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency (preferably BC)
• Current Fluoro certification (or temporary Fluoro)
• Completion of 100 relevant cases in the past 24 months for privileges
