Environmental Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead safety and environmental initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing programs that protect employees and support sustainable operations. This position offers the opportunity for direct hire or contract-to-hire, with strong growth potential for the right candidate. Responsibilities Lead and promote a proactive safety culture focused on preventing incidents and reducing risk Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental programs aligned with regulatory and company standards Conduct safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors on policies, procedures, and best practices Perform job hazard analyses and ergonomic assessments to identify risks and recommend improvements Analyze incident and loss data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and certifications Participate in incident investigations and develop preventive safety measures Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety programs Coordinate emergency response planning and implementation Maintain records, reporting, and documentation required for compliance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health & Environment or related field 5+ years of safety and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards Excellent communication and presentation skills Proven ability to influence and build a strong safety culture Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Experience leading safety initiatives in industrial or manufacturing settings Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and audit processes Experience with safety training program development All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. #J-18808-Ljbffr HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm
