Job Overview

The MEP Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and executing the Construction Design-Build Quality Program, with a primary focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes. This position ensures all installations meet or exceed applicable codes, standards, and design requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with project management, field staff, subcontractors, engineering teams, and government agencies to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Construction Quality Management Plan for all MEP scopes.
  • Ensure all installations are in full compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and standards .
  • Review MEP submittals, conduct pre-installation conferences, and manage inspections and testing.
  • Oversee quality monitoring for systems such as chiller plants, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineers to enforce design and specification-driven quality standards.
  • Set clear quality expectations for project teams and subcontractors.
  • Supervise field staff and coordinate daily construction activities across multiple trades.
  • Perform field audits , manage non-conformance reports, and oversee corrective action implementation.
  • Maintain detailed QC documentation, including inspection logs, testing results, and compliance reports .
  • Align quality processes with CADD/BIM tools when applicable.
  • Lead bi-weekly OSHA-compliant safety meetings and monitor site safety practices.
  • Act as liaison with the government, construction managers, and design teams on quality matters.
  • Ensure timely collection and submission of all QA/QC closeout documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering , Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of quality control experience in MEP systems, preferably on federal or public works projects .
  • Proven expertise in chiller plants, central utility systems , and chilled water systems.
  • Experience working with agencies such as USACE, GSA, NAVFAC is highly preferred.
  • CQM-C certification by USACE/NAVFAC is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of codes and standards: ASHRAE, NEC, IPC , and QA frameworks like ISO 9001 .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ; experience with Procore, Bluebeam , and QA/QC software preferred.
  • Familiarity with CADD/BIM platforms is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
