About the Role

Hello, School Nurses! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time 1:1 School Nurse in Winder, GA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in providing individualized nursing care to a student with complex medical needs in a special education classroom. You will ensure the student's health, safety, and access to education by implementing individualized healthcare plans, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring the student's medical status, responding to medical emergencies, and maintaining accurate health documentation. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families, you will support the student's participation in classroom activities while fostering independence, well-being, and a safe learning environment.

Position Details:

• Caseload within Barrow County School System
• Full Time - Starting July 2026
• 1.0 FTE, M-F

What You'll Do

• Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care to a student in a special education classroom.
• Implement individualized healthcare plans and physician orders.
• Administer medications, treatments, and other nursing interventions.
• Monitor the student's health status and respond to medical needs or emergencies.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, school staff, and families to support student success.
• Assist the student in safely participating in classroom activities throughout the school day.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

• Valid State of Georgia licensure as a registered nurse
• Nationally recognized Health Care Providers CPR AED certification
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred, not required
